Advanced search techniques
Boolean logic is a fancy term for combining keywords together with the words AND, OR or NOT.
AND- Using the AND operator between terms retrieves documents containing all of the terms
- This narrows strong> the search.
- This example will retrieve records that contain both Blue and Yellow
- OR operator retrieves documents containing either term
- This broadens the search.
- This example will retrieve records that contain Blue ,Yellow or both Blue and Yellow
- NOT excludes terms from your search
- Use NOT with caution.
- This example will retrieve records that contain Yellow , but that do not contain Blue
