SANGAY [ HEAD - ECB ]


I have PhD (Ecology) from the University of New England, Armidale, New South Wales, Australia; where I studied movement ecology of our National Animal - Takin (Budorcas whitei) in Jigme Dorji National Park, northwestern part of the country.  For my MSc. I worked on the “Tiger (Panthera tigris) and its Conservation Efforts in the Kingdom of Bhutan”.

Prior to joining the Institute, I worked as an Assistant Coordinator and later as the Coordinator for Tiger Conservation Program at the erstwhile Nature Conservation Division from 1996 - 2008, large mammalian carnivores ecology (particularly human-large carnivore conflict) and habitat are my passionate subject.  I have joined the Institute in 2009.

Currently, I work as the Head, Education and Capacity Building Services of the Institute.  My primary roles are to oversee the National Certificate Program, Professional Training Program and International Student Exchange Program.
