Lecture on Laws of the Country

Police in command Capt. Jamyang Dorji and his colleague from Division XIII, Royal Bhutan Police, Jakar, presented elaborately on Laws of the Country to the 9th batch National Certificate trainees on 6th of October, 2017 at the Institute.

There were hordes of issues being discussed but chiefly on youth related offences and penalties stipulated in the penal codes of Bhutan. The presentation showed National statistics of domestic violence victims, harassment, molestation and other crime.

The Resource person drew examples from the cases he handled in the past and kept the floor amused and appreciative of the works our Police men have to go through in their daily grind.

Further, he touched on “Youth Delinquency Monitoring System”- a repository of criminal history of youth that can be digitally accessed by organizations wishing to employ any youth seeking for job and warned our trainees to be wary youths. Police OC also presented on fire hazards and prevention protocol.

The objective of the lecture was to apprise young trainees on the laws of the land, playing pivotal role in reducing crime, performing fundamental duties and being a responsible citizen of the nation.
