Boot Camp on Wildlife Study and Data Analysis

The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE) is organising a 10 days Regional Boot Camp on Wildlife Study Design and Data Analysis in collaboration with the Biodiversity Conservation Society of Sarawak (BCSS), Malaysia from 12th September 2016. 22 participants are currently attending the training. Four New YES Interns Joined the Institute

The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment hired four interns for the Young Environmental Scholars Internship Program for six months. They have joined Institute on 5th September 2016 out of four two has joined UWICE Thimphu office based in Yusipang and two at UWICE main office, Lamai Goempa, Bumthang. They are engaged with the researchers and will also assist the Institute in organizing conference, symposium and trainings at the Institute. Training on Plant Taxonomy and Identification of the Sub-tropical Plant Families

A ten-day training on plant taxonomy and identification of selected sub-tropical plant families is underway at UWICE, Lamai Goempa, Bumthang with effect from 1st September 2016. About 23 participants from field offices of the Parks and Divisions falling under Tangsibji Hydro Electric Project area, National Biodiversity Centre, Royal Botanical Park and Hydropower project are participating in the course. SFS-Bhutan Fall Program 2016 Begins

A group of 24 American undergraduate students from 21 different universities/colleges of the United States of America (USA) arrived Bhutan on 29th August 2016 to undergo 3 months semester program in Bhutan.
